Workshop:
Unlocking Intelligence in Communication Networks: Complex Systems Approaches for NextG Solutions

Organizer: Marialisa Scatà, University of Catania

Abstract: This workshop will explore the intersection of complex systems, communication networks, and NextG technologies through research papers submitted by participants. The focus will be on innovative uses of network science, artificial intelligence, and complex systems modeling to address key challenges in NextG networks, such as scalability, security, and adaptability.

Workshop Goals:

  1. Present Research on Complex Systems in Communication Networks: Showcase and discuss innovative research papers that propose solutions using complex systems modeling to optimize and enhance NextG technologies.
  2. Improve Knowledge Exchange: the workshop enable collaboration and knowledge sharing among researchers through paper presentations and discussions on the role of complex systems and AI in improving communication networks.
  3. Encourage Innovation in Addressing Global Challenges: Highlight how complex systems approaches can be applied to NextG networks to address emerging global challenges such as smart infrastructure, IoT, and sustainability.

Topics of Interest:

The workshop invites submissions in the following areas:

  1. Complex systems and network science applications in NextG networks
  2. AI-driven optimization and network performance improvement
  3. Multilayer networks, epidemic models and higher-order graphs
  4. Behavioral dynamics and user influences in communication networks
  5. Future trends in communication networks, including IoT, AI, and quantum networks
  6. Security and reliability in NextG infrastructures

Workshop Format

The workshop will be structured around paper presentations. Each accepted paper will have a designated presentation slot, followed by a discussion session where authors will receive feedback from peers and experts in the field.
